This program is specifically designed for 3-6 years old children with oral myofunctional disorders (OMDs) who have one or more of the following symptoms:
Restless sleep, mouth breathing at night or/and during the day, teeth grinding at night, problems with enlarged tonsils or/and adenoids, bad breath, dry mouth, bed wetting, noisy breathing at night.
During the day these kids might have behavioral issues, be cranky and irritable, and hyperactive or tired. They might be fussy eaters or struggle with certain food textures or have speech difficulties.
Dental symptoms: Parents might be noticing some signs that their jaws and teeth aren’t developing properly, for example not having spaces between all front baby teeth or lower and upper jaw not aligning properly.
The program consists of individualised exercises and games to practice at home, which we go over during the session. The exercises (or mouth and nose games) are aimed at strengthening the muscles of the mouth and jaw, adopting better breathing habits as well as addressing barriers to proper functional nasal breathing. This way we move from cranky, tired and dysregulated to a calm and thriving child improving overall well-being as well as directing the growth of jaws and teeth into a better trajectory due to improved function of the muscles surrounding teeth and jaws.

What is included:
- 5 therapy sessions in person (appointments are typically spaced fortnightly)
- 1 review sessions – in person
- 1 check-in follow up sessions via video call or phone call with parents
- Communication/ coordination of care with other health practitioners
- Basic toolkit* (with little props and tools that we will use of our “mouth and nose games”)
* Basic toolkit includes tools necessary for therapy and exercises, but doesn’t include oral appliances like the MyoMunchee. Those are an extra cost or purchased by the client directly from the supplier.
